Bone Bus Coming to Westcare Family Medical Centre

The Bone Bus will be visiting Westcare Family Medical Centre from 16–20 November, providing bone density scans for eligible patients.

Bone density scans can help assess your risk of fractures. The Bone Bus uses Hologic DEXA machines, the same technology used at fixed radiology sites.

Scans are available for patients over 70 years of age or those with certain medical conditions. Eligibility can be discussed with your GP.

A GP referral is required to book. Please make an appointment with your doctor to discuss whether a scan is suitable for you and obtain a referral.

Costs

• Pension Concession Card holders: Bulk billed
• All other eligible patients: $135 upfront, with a $104.20 Medicare rebate, leaving a $30.80 out-of-pocket cost. The Bone Bus will process the Medicare claim directly.

Once you have a referral, bookings can be made using code WESTCA.
