Dr Caitlin Scantling-Birch
Born in Hong Kong, educated in Edinburgh and London, and now based in Melbourne, Dr Scantling-Birch brings a rich multicultural background that informs her broad, inclusive approach to care. She is deeply committed to patient-centred medicine, focusing on the whole person and ensuring that each individual is at the heart of every clinical decision.
Dr Scantling-Birch graduated from University College London (UCL) Medical School in 2019. She completed her junior residency at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and Sussex, followed by competitive entry into the Hackney General Practice Specialty Training Program in East London. After six years of comprehensive training, she qualified as a consultant general practitioner and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), UK. She has since converted her professional registration to practise in Australia.
Throughout her career, Dr Scantling-Birch has maintained a strong interest in holistic, patient-centred care and has developed leadership skills through a range of committee roles. Her rotational GP training in London provided extensive experience across chronic disease management, mental health, and paediatrics.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and exploring new places through travel.
