20 Mar What to do if you think you have Coronavirus COVID-19

Have you been overseas in the last 14 days?
All returned travellers are now required to isolate themselves at home for 14 days. If you have been overseas, and you have viral symptoms, you should contact the department of health on 1800 675 398. Westcare is no longer able to perform testing for the coronavirus, and you may need to attend the nearest testing centre (Melton Health or Sunshine hospital).
Have you been in contact with a known case of COVID-19?
This means sitting in the same room for 2 hours or more, or face to face contact for more than 15 minutes. It is very unlikely to catch covid-19 from casual contact with any other person such as in a public space. If you have had close contact and you now have symptoms, you should also contact the hotline on 1800 675 398.
Do you have mild symptoms of a viral illness?
STAY AT HOME! Authorities are now advising people with viral symptoms to remain at home, and to isolate themselves from other people including family members. Do not come in to the medical centre. Do telephone us if you are worried, and we can arrange for a video or telephone call from the doctor.
Please continue to monitor your symptoms. If you deteriorate significantly you may need to go to the hospital for assessment.
Do you have severe symptoms?
